The Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan grants permanent residency through the purchase of a property designated for residential purposes, available to all nationalities without any restrictions.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers in this regard, there are specific conditions governing the process of acquiring residential property and when the ownership transfer is finalized for the purpose of obtaining permanent residency, which is valid for five (5)years and automatically renewable as long as the residential property is retained.

It is required that the property be designated for residential use and that its value is not less than 200,000 Jordanian Dinars, based on the appraisal of the Jordan Land and Survey Department. In addition, the property must be purchased only from a housing company or a main developer, and it is important to note that the purchase of the property must occur after submitting the application for permanent residency. All these procedures are carried out exclusively through the Ministry of Investment, including the preparation of documents and obtaining the necessary approvals from other official entities.

We have also received many inquiries on this topic, such as: What about properties already owned by individuals seeking permanent residency? The Jordanian Council of Ministers amended this condition and allowed investors to apply for permanent residency provided that no more than three months have passed since the property purchase. In doing so, the Council addressed an issue faced by some investors.
